Hey! Welcome to my page! 🙂
I’ll write very briefly about me, just enough so you don’t get bored, hold on!
I’m a Brazilian software developer living in Canada. A curious mind that searches to improve yourself a little every day.
I discovered somewhat late in life three of my passions: software development, travel and languages. I’ve always had contact with English since my early days of playing videogames and listening to music, but I’ve never taken it seriously. Years later I got into Spanish by finding my Peruvian girlfriend, turned wife.
Some more years on, I’ve started to feel that I should move from Brazil to somewhere else. Other than the political/economic turmoil in the country, I’ve needed to experience other cultures and to know other places. And I thought that knowing French would help me travel to more countries, so I’ve started learning it. What eventually took me to know my actual girlfriend/wife/partner-in-crim… in life ❤️
After a difficult beginning in development and years in technical support, systems analysis/support I’ve begin to mainly develop in a proprietary language called Progress by 2014. It was used in a ERP system that the company implemented to standardize operations.
Since then, I’ve switched paradigm to web development, learning some Ruby on Rails, NodeJs, some mobile frameworks like React Native, until arrive to .Net/C#. Since then I’ve worked in many companies and projects. All with their specificity, pleasures and challenges.
In most of these projects I’ve used .Net in the backend with a frontend framework, mainly Angularjs and Angular 2+. The database being MS SQL Server most of the time.
I know that people just love React, but I don’t like it so much. Maybe is just habits, or not enough knowledge of it, but I find it more difficult to have lots of libraries to choose from, instead of basic native functionality, which is just there to use.
It may sound cliché, but I love what I do. I don’t do it just for the paycheck (that is good, don’t get me wrong) or the status of whatever. I enjoy getting things done, things that can help someone do his job or even that make this job viable. I feel good when I find a solution for a difficult problem (even if the pain can last for hours of debug, analysis and hair pulling 😅).
And I like to know more about topics, to comprehend the why of things and go deeper. Spend time listening or reading masters of the field discuss topics like design and architecture. Learning new tendencies (or discovering that their fundamentals are the same, anyways).
This blog is another step in the journey. Trying to learn and improve as a person and in my craft. To write in a language that I don’t use every day, to save and share some of my findings, problems and solutions. Even for my future self. To somehow make a little presence in the web, possibly help someone with the same technical pain and connect with colleagues.
This is it! Feel free to reach me out!
